The TownSmith Surveys and Results framework is a flexible and valuable tool.
TownSmith Surveys and Results, in addition to its standard feature options,
can be customized during integration to meet the functionality requirements
of any client. Some of our standard functionality options are described
below:
- Custom Survey BuildingUsing TownSmith Surveys and Results, you can write
any number of your own survey questions to ask of your site
visitors.
- Answer Configuration OptionsFor each question, you can collect multiple
choice, yes/no, true/false, short answer, or essay type responses. You can
have different questions on a single survey have different answer
configurations.
- Answer Selection Style OptionsFor each question you can choose to have
the user mark their answers using check boxes, pop-up menus, or radio
buttons for multiple choice, yes/no, or true/false questions or textual
entries for short answer and multiple choice formats.
- "Other" OptionIn the case of multiple choice format, you can make the
final choice be "other" which the survey respondent could mark, then enter
their own answer textually.
- Question Formatting CapabilitiesUsing TownSmith Surveys and Results, you
can use HTML codes to format either the questions or the answers you write.
- Data Tracking OptionsYou can track answers according to specific users
according to their log-in identity or you can track answers anonymously.
All responses are stored in your database for retrieval and manipulation later.
- Automatic Question SelectionYou can turn certain questions on or off
according to the user's log-in information. For example, if you are
surveying employees on your intranet, you can have a question specific to
shipping issues show up for users who are logged in as employees in the
shipping department, but not show up for users logged in from other
departments.
- Custom Formatting OptionsUsing TownSmith Surveys and Results, you can
write your own titles to replace the titles on our standard buttons. You
can also write your own headings and can establish your own question
formatting.
- Automated Results CalculationTownSmith Surveys and Results automatically
tabulates results to all your multiple choice, yes/no, and true/false
questions.
- Results Postings OptionsDuring your integration, we can set TownSmith
Surveys and Results to post results to surveys in real time as users
complete them, to begin posting results after a certain number of users have
answered, or after a set time period. For example, after the first user
answers a survey, the results of that survey will reflect only a single
person's opinion. Perhaps you'd prefer to wait until you've collected 100
surveys before posting any results so that the results will be more valid.
Perhaps you'd like to collect survey responses for a full month then send
e-mail out to all respondents saying that the results have been posted at
your site which will bring them back for another visit.
- Results Display OptionsFor each set of calculable results, you can set
TownSmith Surveys and Results to display the results in a text only mode, a
pie chart mode, or a bar graph mode. Each question in a survey can have its
display mode set differently. We can customize the pie charts or bar
graphs, if you like, during the integration process.
