The TownSmith Basket software framework is one module of the TownSmith suite of electronic community and electronic commerce functionality tools.

The TownSmith Basket is designed to enable a user to build a collection or "basket" of items selected throughout their browsing of a particular web site. Those items can then be manipulated in some way at "check out." On commerce sites, the check out process usually involves ordering and credit card processing. The usability of this software framework, however, is not limited to commerce.
